On Thursday 23rd October, Breamore School met in St Mary’s Church Breamore, to celebrate their harvest service. The children shared a great selection of songs and readings, and then food was gathered to give to the Trussell Trust.
Fun was had by all as we gathered to enjoy a harvest lunch in St Mary’s Church Hall. The handbell ringers provided the entertainment. After their performance, they invited us to have a go too!
On Sunday 21st September a service to mark Battle of Britain Sunday was held at St Mary’s Church, Fordingbridge. Rev’d Charles Rolfe, who has previously been RAFA chaplain preached. Mrs Warner, one of the founding members of Fordingbridge RAFA laid a wreath. During the prayers the congregation placed doves of peace on a map, to mark our prayers for the world.
Sunday 21st September saw our harvest celebrations at Woodgreen. Food was collected for the Trussell Trust, and everyone enjoyed a bring and share brunch afterwards.
Starting in September 2014, as part of the Royal British Legion’s Every Man Remembered season, there is a short commemoration taking place either at the War Memorial or in the local church, on or near the centenary of the death of those who lost their lives in the First World War. The first commemoration took place on Tuesday 16th September, for Charles Francis Hall.
