Thank you everyone who helped with Ride and Stride last Saturday – Craig, Luke and I had a wonderful time visiting 7 local churches, including 4 AVP ones, even though two of us were on the tandem, which arrived with only one brake! The top Church was St George’s, Damerham, where not only were there drinks and biscuits, but they’d left out home-made fudge for us as well. We had very few visitors, but perhaps we can do better next year. Gary
Fun was had by all at the family fun day in Fordingbridge. Beautiful weather, lots of games, tasty picnics, and time to socialise.
The egg and spoon race brought out many a competitive streak, and our rector Gary Philbrick won the welly wangling competition!
A beautiful sunny morning greeted the bishop of Southampton as he joined St Mary’s Church, Breamore, for their morning Eucharist on 31st August. The congregation enjoyed lovely refreshments in the sunshine after the service.
After all the hard work putting together the patronal festival, we all enjoyed a relaxed barbeque at the rectory to celebrate the tremendous success (and start plotting for next year!)
Great fun was had as a group of children joined Hale Holiday Club, to learn about Paul’s missionary journeys. A replica boat was created, to help our understanding, along with many passengers. Adam organised a great selection of games in the field, fun was had with water (ahead of the ice bucket craze!), as well as games with a parachute. The two days were rounded off with a splendid tea party.
