SIMPLIFICATION – Fordingbridge PCC Open Meeting, Thursday 18th, 7.00p.m., by Zoom

Fordingbridge PCC is planning to meet on Thursday, June 18th, at 7.00, by Zoom.  We’ll start by reflecting on the well-attended Simplification Meeting last Thursday (which was followed by an Open Meeting of Hyde PCC on Friday, also well-attended).  This is an OPEN MEETING, and anyone who has further reflections on the Simplification Process is welcome to Zoom in.  (The PCC has a couple of other items to discuss, for which anyone is welcome to stay, but no obligation to.)

If you would like to join in, please e-mail the Church Office for the Zoom details.

SEW FRIENDLY – A quilt is a hug you can keep.

At the June meeting of Sew Friendly, when we were celebrating our first year, we presented twenty quilts to the Project Linus regional co-ordinators.

Project Linus started in the USA and is named after the comfort  blanket toting character from the Peanuts comic strip. The project came to the UK in March 2000 with a mission to provide new, homemade washable quilts to babies, children and teenagers who are sick ,disabled ,disadvantaged or distressed.

We were delighted to be told that a week after we had presented our quilts, they were delivered to the Children’s Intensive Care Unit at Southampton Hospital where we hope they will bring comfort to the children and their families.

Project Linus UK is a 100% volunteer based and non profit making organisation and relies on donations of cotton fabric for making the quilts, and office supplies which assist in this important work. In 2017 they delivered 2029 quilts in our local region.

Sew Friendly is delighted to have been able to contribute to this worthy cause.

Sew Friendly meets on the third Tuesday of each month in the Hyde Church Community Centre at 1pm and we share our knowledge and expertise with all our members, beginners and improvers. We respond to members ideas for projects and cover patchwork , applique , lace making and plan to do some fabric dyeing and dress making in the months to come.

If you would be interested in joining our group please contact Sue on 01425 656890.

Do you need Prayer for something in particular?

If so, phone the Prayer Line, organised by the Churches in Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole.

They’d love to hear from you.

‘Thy Kingdom Come’ is a global time of prayer, between Ascension Day (May 21st and Pentecost (May 31st).

People are urged to pray however they wish, and to experiment with different types of prayer, or using different resources, or doing it in different ways.

We’ll be using some of the materials in our Srvices and Thoughts for the Day.

One way of praying is to think of 5 friends, and to pray for them, especially during these 10 days.

There are ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ Resources you might like to use – either on-line, or by printing them off.

You can find these in the News Section, under Partners, or by clicking here, and scrolling down to ‘Thy Kingdom Come’:
